Our tryout process consists of one weekend of open tryouts, and two weekends of invite tryouts. Anyone from the community is welcome to attend open tryouts - just complete the Registration Form below. If you require special accommodations, please make note!. Mallard is committed to giving players the opportunity to pick the team that best suits them; out of respect to the community, we will never enforce a deadline for players to accept/reject their spots if they are still in the tryout process for another team. The USA Ultimate events we attend limit us to 26 players on our event rosters. We still like to have more than 26 players on the team. For this reason, we build our team with 26 roster players, and additional players are practice players. Roster players and practice players are held to the same expectations. The only differentiators are that (1) roster players will receive priority in filling our event rosters, and (2) practice players will receive reduced dues that only reflect costs of practice fields. We will never prohibit our practice players from playing on other teams for the USA Ultimate postseason championship series.

The 2026 season will cost a TBD for players — this amount will cover vehicle rentals, gas, lodging, bid fees, and practice fields. It does not include costs for uniforms and air fare; players will make these purchases on their own. As both a financial and environmental effort, we re-use our same white jerseys and shorts from year-to-year; returners will only be required to purchase the dark jerseys.
